So Who Is Adeptive?
Adeptive is a team of two guys from different backgrounds, who crossed paths in college. Both of which decided that as a whole, they could provide an excellent service with a unique style that isn’t available anywhere else.
With a small staff and few assistants, this ensures you’ll always be in almost direct contact with the men behind the lens, ready to answer any questions you may have. This can be invaluable when selecting a photographer for a job, as well as the pre and post processing of each shoot.
Thomas Wilson
Thomas is a Hampton, Virginia native with deep roots in broadcast and journalism techniques. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Norfolk State University in 2008 and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Media Management with an expected graduation date of December 2010. Outside of the classroom, Thomas spends his time freelancing for a few local publications including the Virginian Pilot and Inside Business, as well as teaching visual design software to high schoolers and undergraduates.
Thomas’ heart is in Sports photography and it shows in his images. After hanging up the pads his sophomore year of college, he needed something to occupy his time. By picking up his first camera, he found that he could still be a part of the on field action and roam the sidelines as he once did while an athlete. This deep sports background allows Thomas to seem to always be in the right spot, to capture just the right image, because of his knack for predicting the action. Oddly as it may seem, he feels that always being immersed in the moment is a negative drawback for a photographer, and his ability to separate himself from his environment has helped him immensely.
Outside of photojournalism, he’s a creative mind. He loves to design, paint, and sketch, as well as hunker down with his video game controller in hand for a few minutes of his favorite games. A good game of Madden also plays another role as a skill sharpener for his photography, as he likes to guess plays and attempt to pick the right spot on the sideline where he would be to take great photos.
Bryon Summers
Born and raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland, Bryon was influenced early in life to become an artist by his mother and father. His father, an excellent sketch artist and photographer, would take time out after work to draw a few things, mostly cars, Bryon himself, and older brother. His mother would also come up with creative projects to occupy Bryon’s time. He picked up on these skills and later discovered his true talents in the arts.
After being introduced to film in a 10th grade photography class, Bryon fell in love with photography. He has studied abroad, and traveled the country. Bryon’s background is journalism and his photos can be measured by the familiar phrase “The Art of Story Telling”. He now resides in Virginia where he is specializing in Weddings, glamour, and product photography. Bryon is an artist with a love for photography, design, and many other mediums.
